Lake Placid

GULL ROCK CAMP (c. 1902) is perhaps the finest, classic Adirondack Great Camp on Lake Placid Lake. The limited public access to this pristine, clear, mountain lake and the private retreats around it - many boat access only - makes it a more exclusive location than one might imagine of a body of water named for such a prominent Olympic village. Originally designed in 1906 by architect Max Westhoff for Theodore Ely, the 16,000 sq. ft camp features a collection of purpose-built cabins, including a living cabin, dining room, guest quarters, and boathouses. Painstakingly restored in 1994 by its current owner, the property now includes 11 historic structures and a separate mainland parcel with a large, amenity-rich boathouse and ample parking. The camp offers direct access to village amenities, private hiking trails, and the vast wilderness of the Adirondack Park. Its location also provides convenient access to regional and international airports in Albany, Burlington, and Montreal.
